National Science Week is Australia’s annual celebration of science and technology and thousands of individuals – from students, to scientists to chefs and musicians – get involved, taking part in science events across the nation.
Science Week is designed for everyone – it’s definitely not restricted to schools and universities – with events and activities and talks and shows for every age group.
It provides an opportunity to acknowledge the contributions of Australian scientists’ to the world of knowledge. It also aims to encourage an interest in science pursuits among the general public, and to encourage younger people to become fascinated by the world we live in. www.scienceweek.net.au
We will be utilising STEM equipment from SciTech. The regular Science program will be collapsed, and students will have the opportunity to trial technology linked to Science. Bayswater PS would like to formally acknowledge and thank David Hoskin and the SciTech team for lending us this equipment.
Our art program will have Science linked activities!
STEM EXPO
We will be hosting a STEM expo, where students can enter a project that they have created at home and can bring to school to share with their peers. The STEM expo will be held after school on Wednesday 17 August between 3:15pm and 4:15pm, in the Science room.
Our theme is Space and Earth Science, however, to foster curiosity and encourage creativity, all STEM project entrees will be accepted. There are lots of project ideas on the science week website, Pinterest and Google.
Please use the link if you would like to enter your child: https://forms.office.com/r/XMw81WcnEV
